We are looking for more willing hands and resources to better serve our community
First coming together as a multi-church group, we looked at needs in our area and how to best meet them.
Our first campaign was “Take a Fan to Church” in May 2016, then we turned to a fall campaign, “Warm Someone’s Heart” in October 2016. For five years we have collected items with the help of generous area people each spring and fall. So far, we have collected more than 1800 electric fans, blankets, sleeping bags and electric heaters. Distribution has been through the Ozark Center of Hope, the Christian Clothing Exchange, and several other agencies...any organization wanting them for those they serve. Our “Warm Someone’s Heart” campaign is now in full swing collecting electric heaters, blankets and sleeping bags for distribution. We have assisted Gamma House with their annual Fashion Show and Luncheon each year and fed the Care Center Ministries crew during their renovation of Hickory Park. This year we are assisting Care Center Ministries with the Christmas Wish Project and helping the VanMatre Senior Center and CASA. Planning has started for a major fundraiser which will be held at the Twin Lakes Golf Course in September 2021, postponed twice from 2020 due to Covid-19. This fundraiser will fund bus stop signs and benches in Mountain Home for North Arkansas Transit Service to make affordable transportation more accessible and visible in our community. Per Director Sandra Anderson, “Ozark Center of Hope receives blankets, fans, heaters and emergency Pillow blankets from Needs of Many for several years. Without this ministry we could not distribute as many items as we do. If you can help them in their efforts to collect these and join their group, you are helping hundreds in our community.” Please share this letter with your congregation. We would like to invite willing and caring persons to join with us. Our general meeting is the second Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Highway 5 South. During this time of Covid-19, we practice social distancing and masks are required, sanitizer is provided. Our web site is www.needsofmany.org We also have a Facebook homepage.
